In the heart of ancient Sicily, where the relationship between man and nature created civilization &history, Viticultori Associati Canicattì has embarked on a new winemaking project to exhibit the distinct qualities and uniquness of this extraoardinary land. CIVIAS is supported and invigorated by the dedicated membership of numerous small producers in the area that has made enormous investments in the winery with a clear vision brightly painted for its future.

In the sunniest and driest part of the island, stretched out to the coastal city of Agrigento, cultivating vines has long been an important part of the economy, but not quite as important as the Taccia-Caci sulphur mines, reknowned and recounter in literature. Civias involves the exploitation of the underground shafts of the old sulfur mines, with their humid conditions and constant temperatures, for cellaring wine barrels and bottles.
